Nestling in the South Downs in the heart of Sussex, Crow Jane is a friendly, intimate, modest home studio which has grown from a project studio to a space where high quality demos, EPs and soundtracks have been recorded, with an emphasis on acoustic musicians and singer songwriters and offering sensitive, unhurried engineering and production at affordable rates.

My aim is to provide a homely, peaceful environment so you can play your music well and I can record it accurately. A simple idea, but one sadly missing from many professional recording studios with more gear than sense.

The equipment I have is not excessive or flashy – it’s right for the job of capturing the hush and delicacy of fingerstyle guitar, the rich harmonics of a double bass or the intimacy of a confessional vocal.

As an engineer, I place great value on helping the musician feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can concentrate on playing their music.

I try to leave my ego outside when I engineer a session and I expect the artist to attempt a similar feat! In my experience this sets the tone for a fruitful recording session from which you will take a focused, natural and genuine record of your music.
